The adventure genre consists of books where the protagonist goes on an epic journey, either personally or geographically. Often the protagonist has a mission and faces many obstacles in his way. A good example would be The Lord of the Rings series.   After all, not every adventure Carl and Ellie had was “Go to Paradise Falls”. Daily life is the focus here, not the distraction. The ultimate goal of the adventure book is to stop passively thinking about the things you would like to do (the way a bucket list implies) and to start taking action on them.

The A is for Adventure book is a rhyming A-Z children’s book for kids of all ages. The book goes through the alphabet, each letter a different activity or lesson, accompanied with incredible illustrations that will ignite the imagination.

The book is also meant to educate, and focuses on hard and soft skills for children to get into the healthy habit of adventure. Kids typically need concrete items that begin with the letter. I think the books are written just as the Backyardigans show is and of course the letter choices are taken from episodes, but perhaps that is at a little higher learning level than a child getting an alphabet board book to learn their letters & sounds would understand.4/5(5).
